Charity Australia International launched its Gaza Appeal shortly after the most recent flare up of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, for the Gazans inflicted by the bloodshed. The Palestinians in the area have been living through this conflict continuously. As a charity organisation, our obligation is to provide ways and means for our donors to fulfil their religious obligations and to help their fellow humans in need.
As Gaza continues to be under siege there is no access to or a safe passage to access the area. However, Charity Australia International has been working with our local partners in Gaza, Palestine and in the other surrounding countries for several years now. Through our partners, we are able to continue to provide emergency relief through to those in need. One of our local partners is ONSUR, the International Association for Relief and Development Organisation. They are working on the ground at the moment to provide emergency relief to the Palestinians. Our local partners have their own means and avenues to ensure that the relief is reaching where it is most needed on the ground.
We understand that there is much concern and talk about the issue of how is relief reaching the people in Gaza. Rest assured that, Charity Australia International is a reputable charity and for almost two decades, has served our community in Australia and many countries around the world with its continuous projects and providing emergency relief as and when it has been needed around the world. We urge you to not let these rumours and lack of information about the situation deter you from donating and helping your brothers and sisters. You have seen the videos and photos that are circulating about the conflict, these atrocities are real, the Palestinians’ pain, suffering and tears are real, so don’t let rumours stop you from helping and donating.
At the moment our partners are providing emergency relief with the resources that are available to them at hand in the area, this is a short and emergency process at present. Yes, there are shortages of resources and depleting as we speak but our partners are still reaching the people in need, Alhamdulillah.
The borders will eventually open up and access will eventually be granted to all NGOs to reach the people of Gaza. At that time, we will begin the middle to long term relief process. As you have seen, heard and experienced through social media and newsagencies, Gaza is being turned to rubble and this will be a long recovery process which will need an excessive amount of finances and donations.
The Palestinians’ are living on Allah swt’s hope to ease their suffering and their hopes also lie with their fellow brothers and sisters who they believe are praying for them, are lobbying for them, are protesting for them and are donating money which will eventually help them to stand up on their feet, once there is there is a ceasefire and the blockade is lifted.
Charity Australia International urges their donors and the community at large, to not let the false understanding of the situation question, deter and stop you from donating for the Palestinian people. They are eagerly waiting for our donations to help them as soon as it is possible.
