About Us
Charity Australia International was established in 1990 by a group of like-minded individuals who were inspired by the teachings of Islam and its emphasis on helping the poor, needy, and vulnerable members of society. The organization was formally registered as a non-profit in 1993 and since then has been providing relief and development services to the most deprived and marginalized communities in Pakistan.
The idea behind the establishment of Charity Australia International was to create an organization that could operate on a national scale and provide humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable and needy segments of society. The organization has been successful in achieving this goal, and today, it operates in all four provinces of Pakistan.
Charity Australia International works as a non-profit, non-political and autonomous humanitarian organization to deal with real-life problems, emergency situations, and humanitarian assistance.
our history
Charity Australia mobilised when the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 devasted most of South East Asia. Brothers from IFAM (Islamic Forum for Australian Muslims) in Sydney were quick to pool resources for aiding the victims.
A year later, in 2005, Pakistan was hit by the worst earthquake in its history, initiating a quick mobilisation of resources and rescue of victims by Charity Australia. An extensive fundraising campaign was launched, endorsed by the Pakistan Cricket team in Sydney, to finance aid work in the destroyed areas.
It led to the realisation that there was an immense need for the rehabilitation; of victims wrecked by natural disasters. Soon after, Charity Australia was registered as a non-profit charity to deal with the surge in demand for aid from disaster-affected countries.
